When is my contractor required to pull a permit?
A permit is not required for normal servicing of an appliance. It is required for replacing an appliance and it's associated equipment except for small, miscellaneous parts. The homeowner should also verify that the installer has pulled a permit prior to commencing any work that requires a permit. The only EXCEPTION to this is EMERGENCY REPAIRS. When repairs are performed in an emergency situation, the permit must be pulled the next business day.
