Edmond Water Treatment Plant

About the Plant

Edmond’s Water Treatment Plant is the most sophisticated in Oklahoma and incorporates a variety of technologically advanced systems including:
  • Granular activate carbon filtration
  • Lime softening
  • Ozonation
The plant has a new state-of-the-art monitoring and control system for the plant and wells that allows the operators to look at, and record, real-time data for water quality and volume throughout the system - right from the control room at the plant.

Edmond’s facility, which treats water from Arcadia Lake, is designed to treat 12 million gallons per day (MGD). It is operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed by a well-trained crew of operators and laboratory, maintenance, and electronic technicians. Most of the Water Treatment Plant staff exceed the level of licensing required by the Department of Environmental Quality.
