Through active assistance with hazardous trees, street median landscaping, and planting within the public rights of way, the Urban Forestry Department enhances the health, safety, and beauty of the urban forest. While trees must be removed due to hazardous defects, the Urban Forestry Department’s goal is to plant at least one tree for every tree that is removed in order to maintain urban tree canopy cover.
