Facility Maintenance

The City of Edmond is primarily a service organization. Most of these services are provided through city buildings and structures located throughout Edmond. To keep these structures safe and in good condition, the city has established a Facilities Maintenance group in the Public Works Department. The Facilities Maintenance group is responsible for the maintenance of more than 130 city-owned buildings, including facilities for the following:
  • Animal Services Building
  • City Administration Building
  • City First
  • City Hall / Courts
  • Five Fire Stations
  • Historical Museum
  • Multi-Activity Center (MAC)
  • Pelican Bay
  • Police Department

Duties

This group handles daily maintenance, physical security, fire / life safety system maintenance, janitorial services, electrical systems, general maintenance, building automation systems, and tenant services for over 500,000 square feet of building space.

Additional Responsibilities

Facilities employees are the “behind the scenes” heroes who help make events successful by setting up for meetings and cleaning up after late-night and weekend events. Facilities staff also provides technical assistance during development of new buildings and manages numerous capital maintenance projects each year.
