Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Edmond Animal Shelter.
To volunteer with our Shelter, a person must be at least 18 years of age; or if between the ages of 13-17, a parent must also volunteer.

We currently are only able to place volunteers who can commit to at least 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. We do not offer community service hours or short-term volunteering.

Volunteering opportunities include: dog walking/exercising, playing with cats, assisting cleaning the animal areas, bathing dogs prior to spay/neuter surgery and assisting with off-site adoption events.

After you submit the volunteer application, it will be reviewed to ensure that the minimum requirements are met and a criminal records check will be completed. Once that has cleared, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with the Animal Services Supervisor to discuss our volunteering program in more detail and to determine if we have a volunteer position in which to place you.

Please note that as this process may take several weeks to complete, it is not really suited for people looking for an immediate volunteering opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact us at 405-216-7615.

Thank you again for your interest in our volunteer program.
