When to Use 9-1-1

911 Should Only be Used for an Emergency

An emergency is an event that is threatening life or property, a crime in progress, or a serious crime that has just occurred. Obviously there are other situations that warrant a response but are not an emergency in nature. For those, call (405) 359-4338. Do not call 9-1-1 to report an electric outage.

Keep the following information on hand, and leave it where it will be immediately available in case the need to call 9-1-1 arises. You may want to review this information with all members of the family, especially children.
