The office of the Mayor can issue proclamations, certificates of recognition, letters, and other honors requested by local individuals and organizations. These documents do not create policy but merely draw attention to commemorations that are broadly understood to be important to our community. All documents are signed solely by the Mayor and only the Mayor can approve or deny the issuance of such documents. None of these documents create or carry the force of law.
