Copy and Reproduction Fees
Physical copies, letter or legal size, shall cost $0.25 per piece of paper. Physical certified copies, letter or legal size, shall cost $1.00 per piece of paper. For larger size physical copies or for the reproduction of other physical records, the City shall charge the reasonable, direct costs of copying or mechanical reproduction.
For all physical copies larger than legal size, the City shall request a quote for the reproduction of the physical record by a vendor and provide the quote to the records requestor. The requestor shall be responsible for paying the total cost, in advance, as quoted by the vendor.
The City may, at its discretion, provide copies of records requested electronically or by mail. If records are provided electronically or by mail, the City shall charge the reasonable, direct costs of copying or mechanical reproduction as well as the reasonable, direct costs of mailing, if applicable.
For all records requests totaling less than $2.00, the City Clerk, City Attorney, or their designees may waive records request fees.
In all circumstances where fees total $2.00 or more, fees shall be paid to the City Clerk or their designee before records are provided.
If a records request is solely for commercial purpose or would clearly cause excessive disruption of the essential functions of the organization, the City may charge a reasonable fee to recover the direct cost of the records search and copying.
Search fees shall not be charged when the release of records is in the public interest, including, but not limited to, release to the news media, scholars, authors, and/or taxpayers seeking to determine whether those entrusted with the affairs of the government are honestly, faithfully, and competently performing their duties as public servants.
If search fees are allowable, the City Clerk, City Attorney, or their designees may require payment of fees as the search is conducted.
