Valentines for Trees and Selfie Contest

February is approaching, and love is in the air…. Love of TREES, that is. There are so many things to love about trees, from their beauty and calming effect, to the shade, cleaner air and many other benefits that they provide. Have you ever stopped to consider what it is that you like about trees? This is the question that Edmond fourth graders were asked as part of the “Valentines for Trees” collaborative art project between Urban Forestry and Edmond Fine Arts Institute’s Art in Schools program. The valentines created as part of this project can now be found on trees in Downtown Edmond.  They will also be added in Hafer Park and Mitch Park during the week of February 3rd.

Win a tree through the Valentines for Trees Selfie Contest!

By engaging with the Valentines for Trees in public spaces, you have a chance to win a tree! To enter:
  1. Take a selfie with some of the valentines in Downtown Edmond, Hafer Park or Mitch Park
  2. Create a public post on Facebook or Instagram telling us something that you love about trees.
  3. Use the hashtag #valentinesfortrees and tag Edmond Urban Forestry to be eligible (“Edmond Urban Forestry, Government” on Facebook and @edmondurbanforestry on Instagram).
On February 17th, a random participant will be selected to win a 3 gallon red bud tree. Happy Valentine’s Day!
