*** THIS PAGE IS FROM THE FALL 2016 TREE MAIL NEWSLETTER, AND ALL TREE DISTRIBUTION EVENTS LISTED HERE ARE PAST***
Tree planting season is upon us, and Edmond residents may embrace a few different opportunities to get trees through the City this fall. See below for details.
Fall Tree Distribution
**This is a past event***On Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 City of Edmond will host a tree distribution for Edmond residents in the big parking lot at the entrance to Hafer Park (at E 9th St and Bryant Ave). 85 trees, provided by
The Tree Bank Foundation, are available beginning at noon, first come, first serve. Bring your Edmond utility bill in order to pick up a tree! If you’re interested in helping out with this event, we have some volunteer spots open at the
signup page.
Edmond Open House
***This is a past event*** One day after the Fall Tree Distribution, Urban Forestry will give out seedlings at the Edmond Open House event. The Open House is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Cross Timbers Municipal Complex (I 35 and Covell). In addition to the traditional seedling distribution, we will also host a kids’ craft and provide information about proper tree care and planting. For the kids’ craft this year, we are making seed balls to encourage habitat for pollinators. Volunteers are always welcomed at the Open House as well, so
sign up here if you’d like to help with this fun event!
