The City of Edmond assures that no person or groups of persons shall, on the grounds of race, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, national origin, pregnancy, disability, genetic information, military service, or income status, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 , the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and other pertinent federal non-discrimination directives, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any and all programs, services, or activities administered by the City of Edmond. The City further assures every effort will be made to ensure nondiscrimination in programs and activities, whether they receive federal financial aid or not.
In the event that the city distributes federal aid funds to another entity, the City will include Title VI language in all written agreements and will monitor for compliance.
Any person who believes that he or she, individually, as a member of any specific class, has been subjected to discrimination prohibited by federal law, may file a complaint with the Title VI Coordinator with the City of Edmond Planning Office. Title VI Complaints must be filed within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory event or practice. Complaints must be filed using the Edmond’s Title VI Complaint Form (PDF) and submitted electronically or mailed to:
