Fall Tree Distribution
***This event is past***
Urban Forestry will host a tree distribution again this year at Festival Marketplace, during the very last Farmer’s Market event of the year on Saturday, October 25th, 2014. Beginning at 8 AM, 3 gallon trees provided by the Apache Foundation, The Tree Bank, and City of Edmond will be available to residents on a first-come, first serve basis. Residents may pick up one tree per household. Keep up with us on Facebook for more details about this event, including available tree species.
Volunteering
We could always use some help from volunteers in making both of the above events a success. If you would like to help with the tree seedling giveaway at the Open House, signups are available online. If you are interested in assisting with the Fall Tree Distribution, view the online signup sheet for that event.
Set Up Your Own Activity
In addition to scheduled activities, Urban Forestry is open to setting up events for groups of at least five people. Events may range from volunteer service to an educational presentation to a group on the topic of trees and urban forestry. Read more about potential services and opportunities, and contact us if you’re interested in setting up an event for your group.Like Edmond Urban Forestry, Government on Facebook to keep up with new information, event updates, relevant issues, and behind the scenes happenings of the Urban Forestry Department.

Edmond Open House
If you’ve ever been to the Open House at Cross Timbers Public Administration Complex, you know that it’s a fun, family-friendly opportunity to learn about Edmond’s City services. Each year, the Urban Forestry Department hosts a booth with information about trees and tree care, a children’s craft activity, and the ever popular tree seedling giveaway. Be sure to stop by with your family to grab a tree and try out the craft! This year’s activity benefits the wildlife in your yard – keep an eye on our Facebook page as the event gets closer to see clues about it. Seedling species will include: swamp chestnut oak, tulip tree, deodar cedar, lacey oak, common sassafras, flowering dogwood, and Texas red bud. We hope to see you on Thursday, October 9th from 4-7 PM at the Open House!
